About Bill Kelly

After building custom fiberglass racing kayaks and canoes in the mid 1970's, I moved into wooden yacht construction in 1978. During the next five years I worked on a number of new construction and repair projects involving both traditional construction and modern cold molded construction. Projects included the restoration for charter of a 45' schooner, the repair of extensive collision damage on a 60' Danish built sloop, and construction of a number of multihull sailboats, including several transatlantic race boats.

In 1983 I started as lead boat carpenter on the construction of the 56' ketch "Caroler". During the next 4 years I was responsible for the woodworking aspects of bringing this Class A vessel from lofting to sea trials.

In 1987 I moved to the town of Goshen, in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts to set up shop on the edge of Sears Meadow. I am working in a timber framed, 2000 square foot, heated, and fully equipped shop with a separate, heated 220 square foot finishing room.

Since 1987 I have offered high quality architectural woodworking and cabinetry to homeowners and contractors. In 1995 I began to offer furniture grade display pedestals for sculpture and collectibles. I continue to offer design/build services of top quality, custom residential woodworking to this day.
